- The name CLEVR stands for C-LEVel Recruitment. Cool, huh?
- It all started as a casual rant among good friends—a frustration with another executive search firm that has been underpaying and mistreating employees. The running joke that moment was the idea of three uninhibited friends impulsively starting an employee-first firm based on the premise of the other company’s outdated practice. It turned out to be more than just a joke because CLEVR became a reality.
- CLEVR was officially registered as a business in January of 2023. Operations commenced August of the same year.
- CLEVR’s colors are white, black, and teal. Why? Why not! But really, we wanted to keep it classy with a splash of something cool and vibrant.
- CLEVR’s first official client was Delex Pharma.
- CLEVR’s first placement was Tina Pacumbala as Product Manager for Delex Pharma.
- Mark and Jan were once recruiters. Even after migrating to the US, Mark continued headhunting until taking a life-changing career move of joining the client’s side as an IT Business Analyst.
- CLEVR’s culture of a progressive workplace, inclusive and diverse team, and a result-oriented process came from Mark’s exposure to global companies. He worked for big names such as Amazon, SAP Concur, and Expedia.
- CLEVR’s advocacy of championing for the marginalized groups, such as the LGBTQIA+, women in leadership, and the PWD stemmed from a longtime frustration of Mark and Jan wanting to shake the patriarchal society and promote a more diverse pool of company executives in corporate Philippines.
- CLEVR’s in-house and social initiatives were named after Filipino mythological goddesses/deities.
